CL 70 1944 Major John T. Godfrey (b.1923, d.1958) World War II ace pilot. Pictured with the Woonsocket High School band. Along with his wingman, Donald Gentile, earned honors for shooting down a total of 36 enemy aircraft in the European theater during WWII. Worked in the lace making industry. Wrote "The Book of Eagles," an autobiography.
