CL 20 1927 Walter F. Fontaine (b.1871 in Woonsocket d. 1938 in Charlestown) Architect. Designed numerous public buildings and private dwellings, including St. Ann's church, Holy Family church, Our Lady of Victories church, Mount St. Charles, Woonsocket Jr. High School at Park Place, Union St. Jean Baptiste building, St. Francis orphanage, Social Street School, Fifth Avenue School, McFee School, St. Joseph's church, St. Ann's gymnasium, and numerous others. Also designed mills and factories throughout southern New England. He died during the hurricane of 1938 at his summer home in Charlestown, Rhode Island.
