Hartnett Field with a farm league game going on. Located off Aylsworth Avenue. Dedicated May 4, 1975. Named in
honor of Charles Leo "Gabby" Hartnett, Woonsocket native. Baseball player, member of Hall of Fame (1955).
Nineteen seasons as a catcher with the Chicago Cubs and was later their manager. Lifetime batting average of .298.
His induction into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown marked the second Woonsocketer to be so honored, the other
being Napoleon Lajoie.
